The Vessel
The charter vessel Ironbark is locally owned and operated and provides comprehensive offshore opportunities to locals, visitors and organisations alike. Baysail particularly support and sponsor youth development through low cost sail training and skill development courses.
The SV Ironbark is a 12 metre yacht, locally built by her skipper Iain McCabe to the highest commercial standards possible. Her design enables her to undertake voyages of up to 200 nautical miles to seaward which includes offshore islands and reefs. She can sleep up to 8 people including crew.
The Skipper - Iain McCabe
A qualified shipwright, Iain has worked overseas as a full-time professional sailing master and ocean racer. He has clocked up over 60,000 blue water miles under sail, including crossing the Great Southern Ocean into Antarctica and rounding Cape Horn.
